The Security Guide Updated

The Security Guide version 4 released!

I have just finished updating The Security Guide for Home Computing with new content and revised links. I have made the guide easier to follow, reduced content and have updated the information in the guide. This is a security guide for home computer users and is 110 pages in PDF format. There is a lot of valuable information along with links to free tools and web sites. The updated guide can be found in the downloads section under Home Users/Computer Security.

PCI Audit Template now available

I have just uploaded a Excel PCI template based on PCI 1.2.1 requirements. This template was designed to assist with PCI assessments by IT and Security professionals. The Excel sheet contains the requirements and the testing methods to determine compliance. The sheet is unprotected so you can make changes. You can find this template in the Downloads section under the Audit folder.

Threat Console Updated

I have redesigned and updated the Security Threat Console. It now provides more complete information on the latest security threats and news. I have included multiple threat maps and information from the leading vendors in one place. This console will give you insight to any threat events that are happening and a data source to research existing security events.

More Online Scans!

I have just added three more online scanning tools that help to diagnose issues. Included are browser testing, suspect file scanning by all scan engines, and SSL certificate testing. These tools are great for helping to verify issues or just seeing what information can be disclosed while you are surfing the web. Enjoy!

Blog Added

I have added a Blog link in the main menu to my blog hosted on Blogger. I will be publishing articles when possible and want to use the blog feedback as a way to help improve the web site.

I have enabled anonymous posts so you do not have to register to comment on a post. I am hoping to get more of your comments on the web site and articles this way. Your feedback is always appreciated.
